چکیده

Twenty-four adult molly fish (Poecilia sphenops, Valenciennes 1846) were collected to study the morphology and distribution of ganglia using histological, immunohistochemical, electron microscopy focusing on their relation immune cells. The classified spatially into cranial spinal, functionally sensory autonomic. Spinal (dorsal root ganglia, DRG) contained large close ganglionic cells, enclosed by satellite as well bundles both myelinated non-myelinated nerve fibers. There are glial cells telocytes ganglion. In addition, oligodendrocytes closely related axons. Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) expression was confined glia fibers in cervical next gills, surprisingly, DRG. vestibular large, connected hind brain, numerous neurons packed columns. observed around pseudobranch, head kidney, thymus. Their randomly distributed, peripherally situated. CD3-positive T-lymphocytes, dendritic CD68-positive macrophages contact with ganglia. Furthermore, kidney showed positive Iba1-expressing Most ganglion DRG, autonomic, moderate strong S-100 immunoreactivity. enteric glia, CD68-expressing macrophages, acetylcholine (Ach)-expressing along muscular layer intestinal wall. conclusion, different displayed direct communication which support maintain healthy

Study on induced breeding in ornamental fish, poecilia sphenops

An attempt has been made to determine the effect of Natrum muriaticum, a homeopathic medicine on the weight gain, fecundity, excretion and tissue protein level in Poecilia sphenops (white molly), an ornamental viviparous fish. Natrum muriaticum of 30 centesimal potency of dilution of 0.025% medium was used. The amount of protein was determined in the ovary, liver and muscle of the control and t...

Feeding rates in the sailfin molly Poecilia latipinna and its coexisting sexual parasite, the gynogenetic Amazon molly Poecilia formosa.

Feeding rates of the gynogenetic Amazon molly Poecilia formosa and one of its sexual hosts, the sailfin molly Poecilia latipinna, were measured under winter and summer temperature conditions. Food consumption of the unisexual P. formosa in winter conditions was significantly higher than that of P. latipinna, and it is hypothesized that the resulting food stress might have an important influence...

Distribution and stability of supernumerary microchromosomes in natural populations of the Amazon molly, Poecilia formosa.

In animals, supernumerary chromosomes and their evolution have mostly been studied in sexual reproducing species. In the present study, for the first time, the natural distribution and stability of supernumerary microchromosomes were investigated in the unisexual fish species Poecilia formosa. Natural habitats throughout the range of P. formosa were screened for the presence of microchromosomes...

A tetraploid Amazon molly, Poecilia formosa.

Polyploidization is thought to be an important driving force in evolution as it increases the genetic material on which mutation and selection can act. In the Amazon molly, Poecilia formosa, triploid genotypes can be found in the field and frequently arise from diploid breeding stocks, a tetraploid individual, however, was so far never documented. Here, we report the first tetraploid Amazon mol...

Comparative study on the Structure of Zona Radiata in Pre- and Post-fertilized Mature Eggs of the Viviparous Molly (Poecilia sphenops) and the Oviparous Bighead Carp (Hypophthalmichthys nobilis)

In the present research, modification of the zona radiata (ZR) around the molly (Poecilia sphenops, Valencinnes 1846) and bighead carp (Hypophthalmichthys nobilis, Richardson 1845) oocytes and in the zygotes were studied for pre- and post-fertilization stages and its relationship with the reproductive strategy. Light and scanning electron microscopic studies on the histological sections of...
